Our Story

est. 2022

During the summer of 2022, Casady students Eddy Kang and Lauren Kim observed a need within the Oklahoma community. Their extensive volunteer work at a local hospital revealed that many patients and staff experienced significant loneliness throughout the day. This feeling of isolation was particularly pronounced during the holiday season, a time when both patients and hospital staff were unable to be with their families. The result was an intensified sense of loneliness and emotional strain.

Seeing an opportunity to make a positive difference within their community, Eddy and Lauren decided to leverage their passion for music to address this issue. They envisioned a project that could provide comfort and joy to those enduring long hospital stays and demanding shifts. In October 2022, they founded Harmony Ensemble, a new initiative dedicated to performing uplifting music in hospitals.

Their mission was to bring moments of cheer and connection to patients and healthcare professionals monthly and especially during the holidays. By sharing their love for music, Eddy and Lauren aimed to create a temporary respite from the challenges faced by individuals in the hospital, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness, boost morale, and provide support during a time when being away from loved ones is especially difficult.
